IT’S SHADOW AND SON RELEASE DAY!!!! THE TRILOGY? COMPLETED! THE CROWN? SHATTERED! THE SON? SHADOWED! Okay I’m not sure about that third one but the point is this story has finally come to a close and I’m I’m absolute shambles about it. I had the pleasure of ARC reading it a couple of months ago as a part of Grethen’s permanent ARC team and the last picture is evidence of me absolutely bawling my eyes out for these characters and this story. This series turns a multitude of tropes on their head and expertly subverts your expectations in the best way possible. Everyone should go start this trilogy RIGHT NOW if you haven’t already!

I also got to meet Gretchen for the first time last night and it was an absolute DREAM. Hearing you speak about your writing process, give advice to other authors, and be unapologetic in who you are had me cheesing the whole time. I asked a question about your process in resolving not only the cliffhanger from Splintered Kingdom bit also your process in handling the resulting trauma and your response about taking the time to acknowledge how everyone heals differently and that you wanted to really be mindful of that meant a lot, because its so noticeable how much care and thought you put into it and I meant that when I said as much last night. You are such a light, thank you for creating this world and these characters, and for letting me be along for the ride. I adore you and cant wait to freak out over whatever you write next!
