🥟 I went all the way to Poland to learn how to make pierogi… so you don’t have to! 😂🇵🇱

But seriously, if you ever find yourself in Kraków, take a pierogi-making class! It’s such a fun way to experience Polish culture.

I learned from the lovely Olga, and now I’m bringing a little taste of Poland home to Canada!

Here’s a simple version you can try yourself. Save this for your next cooking day! ❤️

Homemade Polish Pierogi Ruskie 🥟

For the dough:

* 1¼ cups Robin Hood all-purpose flour
* 1¼ cups cake and pastry flour
* 1 large egg
* ¾–1 cup warm water, added gradually
* 2 tbsp vegetable oil
* ½ tsp salt

For the filling:

* Potatoes
* Farmer’s cheese or well-drained cottage cheese
* Fried onions
* Salt and pepper

How to make them:

1. Mix the flours and salt. Add the egg, oil and gradually add warm water until a soft dough forms.
2. Knead until smooth, cover and rest for 30 minutes.
3. Boil and mash your potatoes. Let cool before adding the cheese.
4. Fry onions until golden.
5. Mix potatoes, cheese and onions. Season to taste.
6. Roll out the dough and cut into circles.
7. Add filling, fold in half and pinch the edges closed.
8. Boil in salted water until they float, then cook another 1–2 minutes.

Serve with buttery fried onions and sour cream! 😋
