Standing 96 metres tall, Big Ben has been keeping time in London since 1859. Its Great Bell weighs 13.7 tonnes, and its four clock faces are each around 7 metres in diameter.

But here’s something most people don’t know: Big Ben is actually the name of the bell, not the tower itself. The tower was officially renamed Elizabeth Tower in 2012.

More than 160 years later, it remains one of London’s most recognisable landmarks.
