POV: You survived swimming lessons with THREE children under six and lived to tell the tale 😭😂

Nobody prepared me for the Olympic sport that is getting three young children through swimming lessons!

The school pick-ups, hungry and tired children, pre-swim snacks, swimming hats, squeezing my daughter’s waist-length afro hair into a cap, and that dreaded 15-minute turnaround between classes! 😩

And because they were all so young, EVERYBODY had to come along. There was no leaving anyone behind!

But the most UNHINGED moment?

My three-year-old VOMITED IN THE POOL! 😭💀

The attendant was calling for me while I was in the changing rooms trying to get my four-year-old ready for his lesson. You genuinely couldn’t make it up! 😂

Now that I’ve started swimming lessons myself at 46, I have a whole new appreciation for how physically and emotionally exhausting swimming can be, especially for little ones.

Looking back, I’m so proud of all three of them. We pushed through the chaos, tears and meltdowns, and it was absolutely worth it. ❤️

Motherhood really does give you stories you couldn’t make up!
