For the woman still waiting for the fruit of the womb… I remember that wait. 🤍

Seven years.

Seven years of wondering when it would be my turn. Seven years of hoping, praying and navigating the emotions that come with wanting something so deeply and not knowing when, or if, it will happen.

And then, in a way I could never have planned for myself, I went from waiting… to having three babies in two and a half years.

Looking back, I can say with confidence that God’s timing was better than mine.

But trusting God didn’t mean doing nothing while I waited.

Prayer and practical action can sit in the same sentence.

If you’re trying to conceive, speaking to your GP is an important first step. It can also be worth looking at the things within your control: your nutrition, movement, stress levels, sleep and your overall wellbeing.

Not because doing everything “right” guarantees a baby. It doesn’t.

But because advocating for your health matters, even while you’re trusting God with the outcome.

I know how lonely the waiting season can feel, especially when it seems as though everyone around you is moving into the chapter you’ve been praying for.

So if that’s where you are today, I hope my story reminds you that someone else’s timeline is not a measure of yours.

My waiting season lasted seven years.

Then came three little people who completely changed my life. 🤍

If you’re comfortable sharing, how long have you been waiting, or how long did you wait for your little one?

Save this for the days when the waiting feels particularly heavy, and follow me for more conversations about motherhood, advocating for ourselves and the parts of the journey we don’t always talk about.

🎉It’s July - it’s my birthday month - and I’m a One Star Director. What’s that??!!!
.
To me it’s securing a willable income for my children, it’s earning a decent residual income and being able to pour into those around me and help them do the same.
.
This feels so special as it means busy mums like me can do it. I’m also one of the few black female UK directors in the business. What??!!!!
.
Often I’m called superwoman. I just call it minding the business that pays me (ignoring opinions that are not genuinely supporting my growth) and consistency.
.
What’s my USP? My success is duplicatable with the streamlined processes I have. Ask my team 😅🙌🏾
.
My children are grateful for this business, they just don’t know yet, that it’s this, that has helped free my time ❤️🥰.
.
Special mention to @leonie_aleshe & @life.simply.travelled.co . Without them. I wouldn’t have achieved all this, and I’m only just getting started.
.
Affiliate marketing is a game changer if you love the product and have a heart for people. If that’s you. Drop me a DM or COMMENT ‘RESIDUAL’ below.

Nobody talks enough about the financial impact of raising children without a support village. 🥹

Especially those of us who are children of immigrant parents.

Our parents GRAFTED to give us opportunities they never had. And now, at a time when they should be enjoying the fruits of their labour, many are still working, recovering from years of sacrifice or simply don’t have the capacity to support us in the way they might want to.

And let’s not forget, some are navigating their own wealth gap because they didn’t have access to the financial education or opportunities we have today.

It’s a LOT. And I don’t think we talk about it enough.

When you have no village, everything costs. Childcare. School holidays. Time off work. Even the ability to pursue opportunities that could improve your family’s financial future.

Becoming a mother later in life has made me realise just how important it is to build income that isn’t entirely dependent on my physical presence.

For me, that’s been property, affiliate marketing and music royalties.

And honestly? It’s been a GAME CHANGER.

Not because I don’t want to work. I’m a pharmacist with over 20 years in the profession, and I still love what I do.

But because I don’t want every decision about my children to come down to how many hours I can physically work.

Building additional income streams has given our family choices that a salary alone couldn’t.

So if you’re raising children without a village, particularly while juggling a demanding career, please consider what you could start building alongside your 9–5.

It doesn’t have to replace your career. But it could eventually give you more options.

And if you’re curious about how I’ve built affiliate income alongside motherhood and my NHS career, DM me CHOICE and I’ll share the information that helped me get started. ❤️

I’ve been ghosting you because I’m working.

Just maybe not the kind of work people expect me to prioritise.

The UK weather has been showing OFF this week, so I’ve taken my children out every. single. day.

And honestly?

Because I can.

They’re 5, 6 and 7.

These summers are numbered.

The career ladder will still exist.
There will still be opportunities.
There will still be qualifications, promotions and professional development. I can even retrain entirely away from Pharmacy if I want to.

But there will never be another summer where my children are exactly 5, 6 and 7.

So yes, I’m still a prescribing pharmacist.

I work hours that allow me to keep my hand in my profession, maintain something that belongs to me outside of motherhood and continue doing work that I genuinely value.

And yes, I’m still building my business in the background.

Am I building it as quickly as I could?

Absolutely not.

Because right now, speed isn’t the goal. Choice is.

I spent years building an additional income alongside my career so that eventually I could stop making every decision around work.

And now I can dip in.
Dip out.
Slow down.
Pick it back up.

Without everything falling apart because I decided to spend a Tuesday making memories with my children.

I haven’t given up ambition.

I’ve just stopped measuring ambition by how high I can climb a career ladder.

Right now, success looks like having a career, building an income AND still being the mum who can say:

“Get dressed. We’re going out.”

On a random Wednesday in the six-week holidays.

Because these years?

They don’t come back.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in my 40s? Stop starting from scratch. Start leveraging what you already have. 👏🏽

I was making porridge for my three children during summer holidays, but there’s a much bigger story behind this ordinary morning.

Over the years, I’ve learned to leverage different things.

🏡 Property — using what we’d already built to help us create our next chapter.

💊 Knowledge — over 20 years as a pharmacist means I can draw on my clinical experience when making decisions about my family’s health.

✈️ Travel — turning an industry I already loved into an additional income stream, including residual income, that’s helped me create more flexibility around motherhood.

Here I am, spending August bank holiday week with my children, making breakfast in an Airbnb I booked through my travel business.

Nothing particularly glamorous. Just choices I once had to work towards.

A few years ago, I was working seven days a week. Today, I work two days in my pharmacy role, alongside the other income streams I’ve built.

And that’s what leverage has meant for me.

Not necessarily working harder. But learning to make better use of my knowledge, resources, relationships and opportunities.

Sometimes the next chapter of your life doesn’t require you to start again. It requires you to look differently at what you already have.

So I’m curious…

What’s ONE thing you already have that you could be leveraging more?

Your skills? Your experience? Your network? Your time?

Let’s talk in the comments. 👇🏽❤️

If you’re new here… hi, I’m Rachel 👋🏾

And if you found me through my health visitor story, my infertility journey, motherhood or because you were curious about what I do online… welcome. 🤎

I’m a wife of 15 years, mum of three aged 7 and under, prescribing pharmacist, parent governor, mentor, business owner in property and affiliate marketing, woman of faith… and somewhere underneath all of that, still the girl who absolutely LOVES to sing. 🎶

Motherhood has probably shaped me more than anything else over the last few years.

It’s made me question what success actually looks like for me.

I still love my profession and work in out of hours emergency services as a prescriber. But over the last three years, I’ve also built an online income in the travel industry and now mentor 200+ families doing the same.

Not because I wanted to do more.

Because I wanted more choice over how I spend my time.

Around here we talk about intentional motherhood, career, faith, infertility, advocating for yourself, building additional income and all the messy lessons I’m learning somewhere in between.

I’m not the perfectly put-together mum on the internet.

Sometimes the hair needs doing.
Sometimes the eyebrows are missing.
Sometimes the filter is doing the Lord’s work. 😂

But I’ll keep showing up.

Because I think there’s something powerful about women seeing other women build, learn, change direction and figure life out in real time.

So if you’re building a life that actually reflects what matters to YOU, you’ll probably feel at home here. 🤎

Tell me, what brought you to my page? 👇🏾

Leaving London was one of the BEST decisions we made for our children. ❤️

Five years ago, we relocated from London to the Midlands with three very young children all under 3.

I was born and raised in London, but we realised that the lifestyle we wanted for our growing family would be harder to achieve if we stayed. We didn’t plan to move so soon but life forced our hand.

The cost of living is high EVERYWHERE, but moving meant more space for our money, less financial pressure and a different pace of life.

As a prescribing pharmacist, I was fortunate to retain my remote role at the same hourly rate, without relying on London weighting.

Alongside building additional income streams, this has allowed me to reduce my working hours and be far more present for our children.

And THAT has been the biggest win.

More time together. More space to grow. More opportunities to enjoy their childhood without constantly rushing.

Would I have had this flexibility in London? Personally, I don’t think so.

Three things I’d encourage any working mum considering relocating to think about:

1️⃣ Your career isn’t necessarily tied to your postcode. Explore remote, hybrid and portfolio roles. Research your earning potential before ruling out a move.

2️⃣ Your support village matters. We didn’t have an established village in London, so leaving wasn’t as disruptive. Now the children are older, we feel its absence more, but we’re navigating it.

3️⃣ Calculate the lifestyle, not just the mortgage. Consider childcare, commuting, schools, extracurricular activities and the TIME you could gain.

Five years later, I genuinely believe it was the best decision for our children.

Not because life is perfect, but because we’ve been able to create a childhood with more presence, space and experiences.

And sometimes, the people around you won’t understand your decision. That’s okay. You have to make the choices that work for YOUR family.

Would you consider moving out of London to give your children a different quality of life, or would leaving your support village be a dealbreaker? 👇🏾

Nobody prepares you for the identity shift when your children no longer need you in quite the same way. 🥹

One minute, your life revolves around nappies, nursery runs, childcare and little people needing you for EVERYTHING.

The next? They’re all in school.

And suddenly you’re wondering…

Who am I becoming in this next season?

For seven years, I’ve made decisions around raising three children born within two and a half years.

I stepped back from my career, built alternative income and intentionally created a life that allowed me to be present.

Now my youngest is five, and suddenly I have OPTIONS.

Do I return to full-time work? Pursue something new? Or enjoy the life I’ve worked so hard to create?

Here’s what I’m learning…

Just because you CAN do something doesn’t mean God is CALLING you to do it.

I’m grateful that the decisions I made years ago are still serving me today.

But sometimes the freedom you’ve prayed for brings a whole new level of uncertainty.

James 1:5 reminds us to ask God for wisdom.

So my prayer for every woman navigating a new chapter is for clarity, courage and peace. 🙏🏾

Whether you’re becoming a mum, returning to work, navigating school-age motherhood, marriage or rediscovering yourself…

You don’t have to rush into your next season just because the door is open.

And you don’t have to prove your worth by constantly doing MORE.

Sometimes the blessing is simply having the CHOICE. 🤍

💬 Can we normalise talking about the identity shifts that come with motherhood?

Are you raising little ones, transitioning into school-age motherhood or rediscovering yourself again?

I’d love to hear your story. 🤍

🔁 Share this with a mama navigating a new chapter.

I built a five-figure side hustle 18 months before I actually needed it. 🥹

And the funny thing? I was already earning GOOD money.

I’d just finished my third maternity leave. Three babies in under three years, a demanding career as a prescribing pharmacist, and working seven days a week.

All three children were in nursery, and my working arrangements suited our family.

But I hadn’t anticipated how much life would change when primary school started.

The school runs. Assemblies. Sports days. SIX weeks of summer holidays. 😅

Suddenly, the flexibility I’d enjoyed wasn’t quite so flexible anymore.

Thankfully, 18 months earlier, I’d started building an online travel business in small pockets of time around my career and children.

No quitting my job. No overnight success. Just consistently building something I didn’t desperately need at the time.

By the time my eldest started school, I’d built enough additional income to reduce my clinical hours from full-time to part-time.

I still love being a pharmacist. But now I have CHOICE.

And that’s what I’m most grateful for.

Sometimes the opportunity you don’t need TODAY becomes the freedom your future self will thank you for TOMORROW. ❤️

So to the working mum who’s earning well but wondering how she’ll juggle the next season of motherhood…

Don’t wait until you NEED more options to start creating them.

💬 If you could reduce your working hours without sacrificing your lifestyle, would you?

I don’t want to be an influencer. I want options.

I want to do the school run without checking a rota.

I want to attend the assembly, the sports day and the random Tuesday morning school event without having to explain why I need the time off.

I want to book the family holiday, pay for the food shop and say yes to experiences with my children without every decision starting with, “Can we afford it?”

And I know I’m not the only working mum who feels like this.

For me, building an additional income stream was never about internet fame or having thousands of followers.

It was about creating another stream of income alongside my career that could eventually give me more choice over how much I work, when I work and what I’m available for.

Because sometimes financial freedom doesn’t look like becoming a millionaire.

Sometimes it looks like being able to say, “I can be there.”

That’s the kind of wealth I’m building.

If you’re a working mum who wants to explore building an additional income through travel around the life you already have, DM me “OPTIONS” and I’ll send you the information you need to build an income without missing the moments that count.

MUMS, I NEED YOUR ADVICE! 😩🏊🏾‍♂️

So I’ve literally just survived ANOTHER swimming lesson meltdown with my 3-year-old!

Got back to the changing rooms, sorted him out and decided to have a little rant to my phone… only to discover the app recorded absolutely NOTHING! 😂😭

Anyway, here’s my dilemma.

My youngest started swimming lessons as soon as he turned three. I thought it was the perfect age, but now I’m questioning whether I got the timing completely wrong.

Was three too early? Too late? Or is this just a phase we need to work through?

Swimming is a non-negotiable life skill for me. I nearly drowned as a child, so teaching my children water confidence and safety is incredibly important.

But I also don’t want him developing a fear of something I desperately want him to enjoy.

Thankfully, I have some flexibility with my working hours, so I’m considering swapping his after-school lessons for quieter morning sessions where it’s just the two of us.

But here’s where I need your experience, mums!

Would you persevere, change classes or take a break and try again when he’s older?

And at what age did YOUR children finally settle into swimming lessons?

Let’s help each other in the comments because motherhood really doesn’t come with a manual! ❤️

POV: You survived swimming lessons with THREE children under six and lived to tell the tale 😭😂

Nobody prepared me for the Olympic sport that is getting three young children through swimming lessons!

The school pick-ups, hungry and tired children, pre-swim snacks, swimming hats, squeezing my daughter’s waist-length afro hair into a cap, and that dreaded 15-minute turnaround between classes! 😩

And because they were all so young, EVERYBODY had to come along. There was no leaving anyone behind!

But the most UNHINGED moment?

My three-year-old VOMITED IN THE POOL! 😭💀

The attendant was calling for me while I was in the changing rooms trying to get my four-year-old ready for his lesson. You genuinely couldn’t make it up! 😂

Now that I’ve started swimming lessons myself at 46, I have a whole new appreciation for how physically and emotionally exhausting swimming can be, especially for little ones.

Looking back, I’m so proud of all three of them. We pushed through the chaos, tears and meltdowns, and it was absolutely worth it. ❤️

Motherhood really does give you stories you couldn’t make up!

Parents, PLEASE tell me I’m not alone! 😂 What’s the most UNHINGED thing your child has ever done in public?

I need to hear your stories in the comments! 👇🏾
