After 30 years as a personal stylist, I still love being the student.
Today’s branding conversation at Melbourne Fashion Week reminded me of the value of a beginner’s mind.
Stay curious. Listen closely. See familiar things with fresh eyes.
Most of all, keep the woman I’m helping at the centre of everything.
Her needs.
Her concerns.
Her hopes for how she wants to look and feel.
I left with fresh energy and ideas for bringing my experience to what matters most to her.
And running into an old classmate, who now works at Australian College of Arts and produced the event, was an added joy.
