ORIGIN STORY! Ha ha.... I was thinking about how I first got into punk as it's come up a few times when talking about 'Rebel Grrrls' and my relationship with Punk.

When I was about 12, I was at a car boot sale and a man was selling cassette tapes that were mixes he had made. They were in a big box and were about 30p. There was one that said 'PUNK'....and that's it! No track listing or other information 😅 So I bought it!

I had to give it to my dad's mate (who was widely regarded to know a lot about music) so he could listen and write the tracks down!

And it was all old school 70s stuff- Clash, Buzzcocks, Members, Skids etc....and that's where it all started! I didn't like all of it but I liked ENOUGH to start me off. And funnily enough, the only Clash song on it was Tommy Gun which I don't actually like but they became my favourite band.

The tape is long gone now and I've reconstructed the track list in the pic purely based on memory. There's a few tracks I just can't remember but every now and again something flashes in my mind!

I wish I still had that tape 😪 And thank you to that mystery man for making it!
