Sketching Nunhead Cemetery 🪦

As is now tradition, every Halloween I bring a new cemetery to life as part of my Magnificent Seven series.

These consist of very detailed pen and pencil drawings inspired by the seven most iconic cemeteries in London.

Each constitute a different take on the Grim Reaper and are made through a laborious creation process.

This stage is about consolidating all the research carried out during my many visits to the cemetery. The sketch you saw at the beginning is the main reference for through the drawing process.

Deigned to help Londoners bury their loved ones at a time of unprecedented urban and social growth the Magnificent Seven remain incredibly popular sites for contemplation and nature conservation.
