I give my husband a lot of credit for bringing the kids along when going alone would be easier.

They can name fish and ducks I couldn’t tell you apart. They’re learning his favorite things—and slowly making them their own.

It makes me think about what else we could already be enjoying together if we stopped saying “when they’re older.”
