This was one of those announcements that instantly stopped the internet. 😭
On September 25, 2022, Rihanna announced her return to the live stage by posting a single image of her tattooed hand holding an NFL football, with no caption beyond a simple period. The minimalist post confirmed that she would headline the Super Bowl LVII halftime show on February 12, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona. The NFL, Roc Nation, and Apple Music subsequently made the announcement official.
The moment felt monumental because Rihanna had not released a solo studio album since ANTI in 2016, and she had largely stepped away from performing live while building her beauty and fashion businesses. Fans immediately began speculating about her setlist, possible surprise guests, and whether new music was coming. She ultimately delivered a medley of her biggest hits while revealing her second pregnancy during the performance, making the announcement one of the defining pop-culture moments of 2023.

Y’all don’t need to lie. Everyone knows about this announcement. It was talked about everywhere. Even had brands recreating it with their products.
