Mother Studio

The curtains for the Private Dining Area were hand-dyed, pieced, sewn, and quilted by Kelly of @kyeandhardy and her mom. (I promise we don’t only work with mothers to keep it on brand, but we love when it happens :)

Kelly grew up outside Winston-Salem, NC, learning to quilt from her mother—a skill passed down through generations of her family—before studying fiber arts at East Carolina University. Her gift for combining hand-dyed, modern palettes with traditional quilting techniques makes her work feel so special. We’ve collaborated with Kelly on most of our custom quilts over the years, and her color sense and attention to detail are unmatched.

The appliqué in the background was a labor of love from us! Laura and I (Karie) always try to craft at least one handmade piece for every project, whether it’s hand-painted tile, a custom stencil, or a stitched appliqué. For this one, we pulled fabric pieces from our sample library to create a simple, layered floral collage. We love it 💙
