Hey, if you’re new here, I figured it was time to introduce myself and my little crew! I’m Jamie and I’m married to my high school boyfriend, who is in the Navy. We have three kids who keep life pretty busy. Hayat is 19 and starting school for business and marketing, with hopes of eventually getting into cosmetology, too. Payton is 8 and loves baseball and pretty much anything involving sports. And then there’s Paisley, our 5 year old, who loves her dolls and going to Disney.
I teach middle school math, so between school, family, and everything else, life stays busy. I’ve always loved the beach, so moving to Florida and being so close to it has honestly been a dream come true. Disney World has also become one of our favorite places to visit, thanks to our military passes. There is so much to do here, and we’re trying to enjoy as much of it as we can before the Navy sends us somewhere new. Before Florida, I spent 20 years in Arizona. That was the first place that really felt like a home I chose for myself, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
When I have time, I love playing pickleball, and I can never turn down a good true crime documentary. I’m also the person who puts on a show while doing things around the house because apparently, sitting still and watching TV is not something I’m very good at. 😂 Fridays are usually my attempt at actually sitting down to watch something, but I’m still easily distracted. I love hiking, too, although I haven’t been since we moved to Florida. One of my favorite things is going on long drives, sometimes with absolutely nothing playing.There’s something about the silence calms my soul.
