What if I told you 1 in 5 women over 50 has osteoporosis?

And by age 65, that number climbs to nearly 1 in 3!FACTS

Even scarier? For women over 75 who experience a hip fracture, approximately 20–30% die within the following year.a scary stat, i know.

THIS is why I am constantly talking about strength training and bone health!

And here’s the good news: There are things you can do NOW to protect your bones!

🏋️‍♀️ LIFT WEIGHTS! Resistance training is one of the best things you can do to maintain bone strength.

🚶‍♀️ MOVE YOUR BODY! Walking, hiking, jogging, and climbing stairs are weight-bearing activities that support bone health.

☀️ Get enough calcium and vitamin D! Your bones need both to stay strong.

❤️ Aim for 150 minutes of moderate exercise weekly, and include strength training at least twice a week!

Research, including the LIFTMOR trial, has shown that appropriately supervised resistance and impact training can actually IMPROVE bone density in postmenopausal women!

And remember, stronger muscles also mean better balance and fewer falls!

We aren’t exercising just to look better. We’re exercising to stay STRONG, independent, and healthy as we age.

Prevention starts LONG before you’re 75!

So tell me… are you lifting weights yet?

I found out my bone density was at 10% lower than what it should have been for my age, and my doctor shrugged it off, saying it's just part of aging. It took me ages to realize that I needed to take charge of my own health especially with all these changes in perimenopause. I started lifting weights and tracking everything on the Lila app to make sure I stayed on top of my health. Now I'm seriously focused on getting stronger to protect my bones. Sharing this so more of us can take action before it's too late!
