🇨🇦 Qualified for the ISA World Surfing Games! Two World Championships. One incredible year. A childhood dream come true. When this girl had just turned 8 years old, she looked at me and told me that in 2026 she would surf in the Dakar Youth Olympics. ❤️ (Back then, we didn’t know surfing wasn’t part of it!) At that age, I kinda believed her, but it felt like a lifetime away. Photo 5 is from the very day she looked at me and told me this. I wrote about it in a post back in 2021 that feels so wild to read today as her mom. She had googled the Olympics, discovered Dakar, Senegal (before anyone even knew about it!), sang songs about it, and begged me to wake her up at 4 a.m. to train for it! 🤣 Although surfing wasn’t included in the 2026 Youth Olympics, five years later, she achieved this goal we wrote about at the exact age, representing Canada at her first ISA World Junior Surfing Championships this September. And here she is, preparing for her second ISA World Championship this year, an event that’s part of the qualification pathway toward the LA 2028 Olympic Games! She’ll be among the youngest athletes in the field, competing alongside some of the world’s best surfers, on a stage that has featured athletes of the calibre of Carissa Moore and Stephanie Gilmore. Having this opportunity at just 13 years old is pretty incredible! Snow has dedicated countless hours to get here. To see a dream she had at just 8 years old come full circle five years later is actually a bit surreal and something incredibly special to witness as her mom. ❤️ We’re incredibly grateful to @surfcanada and to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in her along the way. @erinbrookssurf was her big inspiration at this age. Dream big. Work hard. Never stop believing in what’s possible. But most importantly, be a good friend and surround yourself with people who truly cheer you on! ✨ Mom is so proud of you! ❤️ @coastlinesurfsport @cisurfboards @billabongwomens @reef_canada @rhinotofino @bryan_pudney @mai.youarebeautiful #onedream #oneteam #teamcanada #isaworlds
