As a millennial raised in the generation that took social media and made it into a legitimate career option, I’ll be the first to say… Chileeee, the hindsight.

Although social media played a crucial role in opportunities, income, and endeavors that only entered my world because of it, I can say I’ve had a tricky relationship with social media throughout my twenties.

At one point, I seriously became concerned with how it was influencing and sabotaging the way I formed ideas and conclusions about life. As a creator, it was hard not to factor public reception into how I thought and what I thought about.

Over the last two years, I’ve taken several 4–6 month sabbaticals from social media as I sat and thought about life itself, uninterrupted, and removing as many influences as I possibly could.

As I settle back into sharing online, I look forward to creating from the most authentic parts of myself.

Because that’s the point of it all.

It’s not about building a brand that has no backbone.

Or gaining money that has no integrity.

The act of earnest creativity is the point for me.

So, with that, I look forward to just sharing again. From the depths of my inquisitive mind and seasoned soul, I validate myself to be the wildly colorful, semi-socially awkward (I blame my being home-schooled), and deep thinking gyal that I am. And with that, my latest philosophical rant series. #philosophy #rants #oldsoul #90style #fypシ❤️💞❤️

Good for you!!! 👏👏 Totally agree! I took 18 months off and devoted it to praise, prayer, and deep dive Bible studies. When God called me back to it. He said I allowed you to build this audience that you used for your glory - now you’re going to use it for Mine. And I’ve lost followers, the algorithm doesn’t know what to do with me anymore lol But I keep reminding myself what God told me: My job is obedience. His job is the outcome. And I don’t always have to be a clown lol I can show my word nerd side too 😍

My good sis, this was everything I didn't even know that I needed. So much to say, but what I'll reflect back to you right now is that the embrace of the idea of an inner philosopher is so beautiful. I am definitely motivated to consider where I have chosen cowardice rather than boldness to my beliefs and also what might not be popular according to worldly standards 🫶🏽 Can’t wait for more of this series!

Dope introduction! I’ve definitely gotten side eyed once or a million times for speaking my mind/the truth on matters. I’m looking forward to more of these 💯

Critical thinking is a beautiful thing. I think social media is often fueled by having shared thoughts and highlighting attention grabbing moments, but people who also are Critical thinkers listen and reflect on their own beliefs, so keep on sharing. 🙏🏿
