Zoe Armstrong | Childhood + Brand Photographer

Hiii! With a number of new humans here, I thought I would introduce myself. :)

I'm Zoe, the person behind the camera and behind Reddlight Film. I started this journey when my first baby, Redd, was born. He is the inspo behind the name! He was changing so quickly and I wanted to capture every little thing. I had brought a disposable film camera into the delivery room with me and fell in love with the imperfectness of all of the photos. Because of that, when I decided to start up this lil gig, I knew film needed to be at the heart of it.

Before anything else, I am a Mum!! My husband and I are raising our two littles (Redd + Ronnie) as well as our four-legged baby (Rumi) here in Cochrane! We are both from Edmonton however, so we are well versed in all things QE2 (how about that new 120 km/h section huh?!!). Being a Mum has 100% made me a better version of myself and having my own kids has allowed me to connect with other parents in a way I feel like I couldn't before.

I'm also a teacher! I even have my Masters degree in Educational Technology!!! I had to work really hard to earn that bad boy so I do like to bring it up... TEHE. I've taught for six years and my current role (when not on maternity leave) allows me to hang out with grade 8 kids, teach them in the classroom and also take them into nature for extended periods of time to learn from and on the land. It's a pretty sweet gig.

Lastly, I'm a hobbyist at heart. I LOVE taking on new crafts and trying new things. Besides crafting, I also really love being outside and working out! As a family we love to hike and ski and bike and camp and really any other outdoor activity we would probably try it.
