A comment. A look. Someone’s disapproval. It can take so little to knock us off balance.
I love this phrase because it reminds me that I have a say in what happens next. I can feel the sting, pause, and hold onto my own equilibrium.
Someone else’s words or actions may not feel good. But I don’t have to hand them the power to determine my inner state.

This is so insightful. It took me a while to truly understand and internalize it. But now that I have, it is so powerful.
