✂️ IT’S OFFICIAL: Turkey Creek Flood Risk Management Project is complete!

Today, leaders from our district stood alongside our non-federal sponsors—the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County / Kansas City, Kansas—to cut the ribbon on decades of engineering and dedication.

For decades, flash flooding along Turkey Creek devastated neighborhoods and shuttered businesses along Southwest Boulevard. Today, Through partnership that flood risk has been substantially mitigated.

Projects like Turkey Creek demonstrate what is possible when federal, state, and municipal partners unite behind community safety.

Thank you to the engineers, contractors, local officials, and most importantly the business owners and residents whose patience and support brought this vision to life.
