This is my amazing and utterly inspiring friend @davidsmithmbe.💙

We met years ago when I was hosting the National Lottery Draws and one Wednesday night, he came on the show as a guest to start the Dream Number draw. He was part of the Team GB Paralympic rowing squad and we were on the countdown to London 2012. He went on to win gold. 🥇🙌🏻

David’s life has changed so much since then…

He is now paralysed from the neck down and has spent most of the year in hospital. In February, David was told he had four months to live…. We are now at the end of October. Honestly, you will never meet more of a fighter. 💙

On one of the occasions I was visiting him in hospital, he was able to ‘walk’ with this incredible machine. It was a very special moment and he let me film it.

I can’t begin to imagine the frustration and heartache of not being able to ski, to cycle, to walk, to row, to simply move, whenever you want, without questioning how. Yet still, David’s passion for life is very evident.

He has a philosophy, ‘Be where your feet are’. It’s a reminder to enjoy the life you are in, to savour, appreciate and be grateful for where you are, and do things that light a fire in your heart.

Keep fighting Dave! We’re all with you. 😍

Ok so the nuance here:

I’m specifically referring to people who are not professionals who are offering guides, courses and promises that you can “cure” a chronic illness if you buy what they are offering.

I’m not referring to qualified people who work with you to figure out what works for you. Chronic illnesses are notoriously individualistic. Even people with the exact same illnesses as me will find something works for them but doesn’t work for me - which is why a one size fit all is utter crap.

I’m also not referring to other creators with chronic illness who may partner with brands who create products that can genuinely help people navigate their illness better and offer their audience discount codes. They need to earn money too and they’re genuinely trying to offer support.

But ever since talking about my illness online I have been bombarded with unqualified people claiming they cured their illnesses and if I hand over £100 or £200 they’ll tell me exactly how I can do it.

If you really have the cure, you’d be giving that away for free.

Please don’t fall for this!

Some accounts I love following who genuinely help: @dra_says @drzacspiritos @doctorerinnance @drnighatarif @how2talktoyourdoctor @herdiscussionspod @doctoramirkhan @drcutchins

^ to name a few, if you know more please tag them so people know who to get their information from.

Wide open borders. High Inflation. Worst trade deficit in American history.

Radical Democrats' policies have failed time and time again.
