Photos by @joelsartore | Servals like this one I photographed @fortworthzoo are sometimes referred to as giraffe cats because of their unusually long necks and legs. They have the longest legs relative to their body size among any wild cat—an attribute that allows them to jump straight up about 10 feet (3 meters) into the air! Why does Instagram cause so many divorces and is the attention economy feasting on your relationship? This one's uncomfortable and worth every second.

In alabama??

Democrat Allison Montgomery made history on November 3, 2026, becoming the first openly transgender person elected to Alabama’s state legislature. She defeated Republican incumbent Phillip Rigsby in House District 25, receiving 53.2% of the vote compared to his 46.7%, flipping a seat that Republicans had won by 16 percentage points in 2022.

Montgomery, a 32-year-old software engineer from Huntsville, campaigned on affordability, public education, healthcare, and reducing corporate influence in politics. Despite facing criticism over her gender identity during the campaign, she emphasized that her victory demonstrated the potential of grassroots organizing in a traditionally Republican state.

Same voters. Different lines. Different winners.

Gerrymandering means drawing voting district boundaries to give one political party an advantage. A party can win fewer votes overall and still take more seats, depending on how the map is drawn. Swipe to see how it works, and why district lines matter in the midterms.

If you haven’t voted yet, Election Day is tomorrow, November 3.
