One thing I wish more parents knew: you do not need hours. You need a habit.
One book a day before kindergarten adds up to hundreds of thousands of words. Twenty minutes a day adds up to about a million words a year by 5th grade. And don’t stop when they can read on their own. Most kids say they love being read to, and the ones who wish it hadn’t stopped say it was special time with you.
Small, steady, cozy reading time is doing more than you think. 📚💛
