#MarthaStewart is facing criticism after sharing a Halloween photo that appeared to portray a homeless person holding a sign reading, “I AM HUNGRY HELP ME!” The image was reportedly part of a promotional post for her QVC candles before being deleted.

Stewart has since responded to the backlash, saying she was distressed that the costume offended people and that this was never her intention. She explained that she hoped to raise awareness about homelessness, calling it one of America’s greatest ongoing crises. She also emphasized her support for charities that help address the issue.
