It’s easy to see the laughter, the affection, the way we look at each other.
What you don’t see is the work behind it.
The moments we got defensive. The conversations we wanted to avoid. The times an old wound showed up in a new argument.
Learning to say “that hurt” instead of “you always.”
Asking for what we need instead of hoping the other person will figure it out.
Owning our part. Apologizing. Taking space. Coming back.
The goal isn’t to never trigger each other.
It’s learning to respond with more love, honesty, and choice, instead of shutting down, getting defensive, or hurting each other.
