TROPHY
Miami's finest. Dexter's darkest.
“Tonight's the night.”
The city sleeps. The waters wait. And somewhere beneath the carefully constructed illusion of normality, the Dark Passenger stirs.
Some men collect medals. Others collect memories.
Dexter collects drops of blood, pressed between glass, preserved in silence. Tiny red relics of lives that crossed his path, each slide a secret, each secret a trophy. Not for the world to admire, but for the monster within to remember.
“I'm a very neat monster.”
He calls it a code. A balance to be restored. A darkness given rules, a ritual disguised as justice. Perhaps that's what makes him terrifying—not that he has a monster inside, but that he's taught it to follow a schedule.
And when the night is done, the Slice of Life sails on. Its name almost poetic, its purpose anything but. Another life surrendered to the waters of Miami; another secret swallowed by the deep.
The blood slides remain. The ocean keeps its silence. The Dark Passenger never quite leaves.
Because some trophies celebrate what we've conquered.
Others remind us of what we've become.
