🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 15 - Hooray

Well this one was inspired by my hubby, actually. I asked for an idea for the Cookie prompt that will come later and he drew me a fortune cookie. Except, I thought that was an open book and I imagined confetti and sparks coming out of it and immediately decided that would be today’s drawing.
Again, no reference, no AI, completely out of my mind. I find that this year I get my ideas as I see them on paper, even if it’s digital, more easily.
In fact, as I walked with my daughter to the park almost everyday, I bought with me a little notebook and tried to draw by hand with no visual help whatsoever a prompt that I chose. And then, at night, I redrew it without looking on my iPad. Of course it ends up better on iPad but I’m pleased to be doing it for real on paper too. Double the work, double the joy.
I’m aware it’s not a pleasing style, I apologize to my followers, but I personally like it better than my previous Inktober styles. And next year, I’ll do something different too.
In the meantime, let’s PARTYYYYY ! 🥳🎉

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 14 - Lady

Okay, so… this one is important to me. I can NEVER draw humans, right ? But I couldn’t get away from a bust or statue to draw after seeing that prompt. So with no expectation whatsoever, I started doodling. Which became exactly this. On first try. I was so surprised with myself. Of course it’s easier to make, because of the absence of limbs and half a body 🤪 but the face, the hair, even that first half of a body, that would have been totally impossible if I had expectations. I knew I couldn’t do it so I tried anyway and I did it. NO REFERENCE, no AI, no tracing. I did look at a photo at the very end, when I finished, to see if I was too unrealistic or not, and I’m pleased to say I didn’t have to make changes. (Again, easier with no limbs 😂 STILL A WIN !)

I’m absolutely proud of this one. It makes me want to try drawing more humans later, but at the same time, I dread it. I could never beat this one. Even the fabric is a miracle to me. 🥹

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 13 - Flimsy

Now you know why I couldn’t do a butterfly for that baby ogre. I don’t like making the same things for Inktober. I try to use different objects and animals.
I did look at 2 moth photos, to be sure I could add those long wings, but no tracing, no AI.
I’m not a fan at all of killing, no matter what, even beautiful insects, just for the sake of our eyes so I’m glad it’s just a drawing, and it does fit on an apothecary shelf. I would usually try to take a photo of something alive to study it later. I did ponder what else to draw for ‘flimsy’ but I couldn’t find something better. I do hope you all do ! Sometimes my brain is really on pause.

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 12 - Toss

Well, this one is supra obvious also. I tried finding other meanings to the word, to no avail. So tossing a coin into a cauldron instead of a trash bin, that’ll do it. I thought of pouring ingredients, but pouring is not tossing. Tossing a coin, at least we get an expression in there !
I designed everything with no reference whatsoever, no looking at pictures (so no AI, no tracing). That’s why it’s extremely weird. I’m not good with perspective, and my sketch was very symmetrical at first. But that’s okay, this cauldron has been through a lot. Being filled with coins is not the worst outcome ! (At the present time, that cauldron is already richer than I am).
I actually love my coin. Pure improvisation. Tell me if you see what’s written on it.

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 11 - Rescue

I first thought of rescuing a little fairy, but what could she leave behind to know if was her inside this cage, if she already left ? Maybe we’ll keep a fairy in mind for another prompt.

I’m sure looking at this piece is easy to understand now. I did look at a few cages to find some nice Victorian features I love for the base. But other than that, I did imagine the whole setting. I don’t think my witch is gonna be happy that bird escaped ? Or as she’s nice, maybe she actually helped it escape ? Looking at the bars, that poor bird tried to pry itself out several times. I’m glad its happy now.

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 10 - Mystical 🔮

If you feel like it looks like I had fun drawing this, you are correct !! No reference whatsoever, no AI, no tracing, this is my domain, I absolutely adore it ! Those who know me know my favourite emoji.

And you’ll find this is my most complete set, possibly the most powerful of this month, as I couldn’t settle on only one object. It was hard not putting any more of them. : palmistry, numerology, astrology, and so on.
I do know people prefer stories, relatable drawings, while I prefer drawing one object at a time. I also know the satisfying feeling when putting them all together in one image. Like this. We just need the actual table, dimmed light, and the medium out there telling us about our future. I have never been to one, I’m not exactly a believer, but I do love the aesthetics. The possibilities, the belonging.
If you do want the whole process, do tell me.

I’m glad to see that this one didn’t do what an exciting prompt usually does to me : I’m actually happy with it. (I usually botch it)

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 9 - Ram 🐏

My first try for this one was in a park while my daughter was playing, and on a piece of paper moving in the wind. I realized I turned the horns upwards instead of downwards, it looked like a gazelle. 🤣 However, I was pleased to see I wasn’t so far out for the skull, when I went home to check on it ( I couldn’t shake the feeling something was wrong with my horns and I couldn’t see what, so I had to check).

So this is my second try, no tracing, no AI, no direct reference. First try on iPad though. I’m quite pleased, it may seem so easy to everyone else but I’m glad it also started to feel easier to me too ! I don’t ink. So Inktober is always challenging to me. I like drawing perfect shapes, and here I have to stop doing that, start letting go. This one is still very symmetrical though. And my style looks more like sketches than finished drawings, as I focus on drawing the shadows, leaving way more light, contrary to everyone else.

I always thought these skulls were ominous. But I did feel calmness when drawing this one. I do hope I’m not being disrespectful to that imaginary being.

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 8 - Stinky

Well, that one is extra obvious. A poor stinky skunk didn’t have a space on that shelf, I don’t want to humiliate him ! So I made a pot of it, instead. After all, it IS an apothecary. We need ingredients. Now, do with it what you will but please be nice to people ! 🦨 (Okay, I just discovered that emoji, and I now see the similarities. Purely coincidental, I promise ! I wouldn’t be so conspicuous !)

Don’t open that jar unless extreme urgency, the smell is potent. And no, I didn’t make it a perfume, although I thought about it, I considered it too easy. You do need magic to put a smell in a jar instead of a liquid perfume !
I also tried to be a little different that all my vials from last year, but do expect at least one this year. We wouldn’t be complete without it.

No AI, no tracing, no reference (yes, a miracle ! I actually played with Procreate absentmindedly, and remembered the Hufflepuff badger, figuring they’re both similar).

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 7 - Panic

I bet you didn’t expect this one, arachnophobes beware ! ⚠️

Indeed, after a cute little innocent baby monster that’s actually way bigger than this one, I thought of something that would make me panic. It was hard to settle on just one, but this one fits the shelf. Let it be known that it was my intention to create a NICE apothecary, cute, not creepy. Cozy vibes, not horror. I wouldn’t panic with too many marshmallows in my hot cocoa, you see. Or too many blankets on me in front of the fire. However, if I see that, so close to me, in that position (HECK, I don’t even need it to be in that position), I’d freak out, leave the house, the whole country, the whole Earth. (I think I’d still find a wonderful space for me in the Universe, so let’s not go that far).

Anyway, despite all that, I managed to look at several photos to get the anatomy right, and believe me, it was a huge improvement. And drawing this in pitch black was actually quite fun ! I’m not afraid of my drawing, but don’t even think about bringing me a real one to my face. Thank you !

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 6 - Ogre

Okay, I don’t like drawing humans, but an ogre is not, so an exception has been made. I do not want to show you my first try 🤣 Nightmare fuel. I always wanted a cute baby ogre, cuter than Shrek’s kids, as mean to say as it is.
I wanted it to chase a butterfly, but for some reason, I’ll tell you later, I couldn’t add this. Plus, he’s small enough to sit on a shelf, waiting for his witch friend to take care of him.
So he’s waiting, thinking, discovering his fangs. Maybe he’s hungry. We’ll figure it out, I suppose.

The face, it came to me instantly, by playing on Procreate, random lines, and I thought ‘ouh what a nice ogre it makes !’. This was not intentional. But when I tried to make a body…. Let’s say I’m not made for it. So I tried to find some photos, drawings, to find a baby pose without making me a creep. (Adulting is hard, judgment everywhere !) And then I managed to get something out that I actually like !
No tracing, no AI. A few references for the body yet I couldn’t find one exactly like this so I improvised.

Have fun feeding him !

🖌️🎨 Inktober 2026 : Day 5 - Smack

Yes, a group of jellyfish is called a ‘smack’ of jellyfish 🪼 ! Did I know that ? No. So thank you Inktober for making me learn everyday.
No, I didn’t want to draw the basic action to smack someone in the face, or a poor little fly. Yeah, I first planned a chameleon smacking its tongue to catch a fly. 😱
At least, it will be different and most people won’t get it. I’m fine with it. It’s clearly not my best piece, but I’m happy I did something.

As always, no AI. I did look at a few pictures, otherwise you’d have the same jellyfish in that tank. 🤣 Brain is not braining.
