AM I LISTENING?... 31st March 2009...
Sometimes the mind travels to places we never intended to visit.

I had lost my mother in September 2007... and was discovering the joys and responsibilities of being a father myself.

Somewhere between memories of her, watching my little boy grow, and the everyday noise of life... I found myself writing a few lines.

"But I can't hear,
The whisper in my ear,
The voice within,
Am I listening?"

I still ask myself that question...

Perhaps we spend so much time listening to the world around us that we forget to listen to the one within.

This is one of the many reflections that eventually found its way into my book... The Mirrors on the Tides – Reflections Across Shores.
