A new U.S. bill would permanently prohibit large AI data centers from public lands and require existing facilities to be removed. 🏛️🤖

The proposed legislation would block qualifying AI data centers from federal property and require existing facilities, along with dedicated power, water, and cooling infrastructure, to be removed and affected land restored. Supporters cite concerns about electricity, water use, and public resources. The proposal would apply broadly, including some Defense Department land, but it has not become law.
