I wasn’t expecting to get paid when I offered to help
No pitch, no offer, no big following or personal brand
When I first started, I joined an online community & made a new friend from the US.
Over a few coffee chats online, he mentioned he was struggling with Notion.
He knew I used it a lot, so I asked if I could help by offering him a quick crash course with it.
He said yes, and he even wanted to pay me for my time.
We agreed, he paid in full before we started, and we met online once a week for 3 weeks to get him up to speed with it.
What made him say yes?
Just a few honest conversations
And it can be with anyone, literally.
But here’s the point: Don’t go to sell
Go to listen instead, help where you can, and get to know a few people
Think research, not networking
You’ll see whether people outside your circle really have that problem
Not sure where to look?
DM me RESEARCH and let’s talk it through
Are you in any community outside work right now?
It can be online or IRL - both works!
