🌍 Nature is our shared wealth — and investing in its protection is investing in our future.

At #COP17 in Yerevan, together with France and Peru, we launched the Friends of Credits for Nature and Biodiversity to strengthen international cooperation and mobilise investment and innovative financing to protect and restore nature.

🌱 High-integrity nature credits can help attract private investment, protect habitats and reward those who deliver real benefits for biodiversity — from farmers and foresters to Indigenous Peoples and local communities.

🤝 I welcome the strong interest from governments across regions. By working together, we can build credible approaches, strengthen safeguards and ensure that nature credits complement public finance and deliver tangible benefits for nature and people.

Our ambition is clear: turn global biodiversity commitments into concrete action by 2030.
