I was praying for a miracle this morning. It didn’t come. 💔

I woke up hoping that another rescue had stepped up overnight. That maybe some of these five dogs at Devore Shelter had been saved.

But all five are still there. All five are facing euthanasia without rescue.

I’m willing to pull a few, but here’s the thing: I COULD SAVE ALL FIVE IF PEOPLE WOULD STEP UP TO FOSTER.

I’m begging you. These are small dogs, roughly 12–26 pounds. They need somewhere safe to land, someone willing to open their home and give them a chance.

These are the five lives hanging in the balance:

🐾 ROCIO — Female, 9 years old, 11.7 lbs
Brown Chihuahua. A senior girl who deserves the chance to grow old in a loving home.

🐾 HERMONIUS — Male, 17.5 lbs
Cream Chihuahua. Age not provided by the shelter.

🐾 ASLAN — Male, 2 years old, 25 lbs
Gold Chihuahua. A young boy with his whole life ahead of him.

🐾 FLORITA — Female, 6 years old, 18 lbs
Black Spaniel. A little girl who deserves so much more than this ending.

🐾 LEONIDAS — Male, 26 lbs
Black Chihuahua. Age not provided by the shelter.

All five are designated rescue only due to behavioral concerns in the shelter. They have also been exposed to parvo and require appropriate precautions. They are kenneled with other dogs and reportedly doing well together.

I don’t need five people to adopt five dogs forever. I need people willing to give them a safe place to land while we work on their futures.

We can handle the rescue coordination. We just cannot keep taking dogs without somewhere for them to go.

Please, Southern California. Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange County. I’m begging you to consider fostering.

I can save a few. With your help, I can save all five. Please don’t let their stories end here.

You need a pumpkin barista behind this

More recently, digital payment systems like Square helped introduce what people now call “tipflation.” Instead of leaving a few dollars in a jar, customers are presented with suggested percentages on a touchscreen, sometimes for services that traditionally never involved tipping. The psychology is surprisingly effective because the prompt puts customers in the uncomfortable position of declining a tip while an employee stands right in front of them.

A few upgrades to the Claude mobile apps this week.

• On iPad and iPhone Duo, what Claude makes opens beside the chat
• You can stay signed into more than one account on iOS and Android
• On Chromebooks and foldables, Claude on Android works like a laptop app
• Voice mode answers sooner, and on iPhone it works with Apple CarPlay
• The app is now available in 24 more languages, 33 in all
• Pull down to search is coming soon to iPhone and iPad

What would you like to see next?

I want you to read this article carefully. I find it deeply disturbing how fixated Meghan Markle seems to be on the Princess of Wales. Nothing sounds more unsettling than the quote, “Meghan would love a public face-off with Kate.”

Of course she would. A photo with Catherine—especially one placing Meghan in the background beside the future Queen—could mean headlines, attention, and money. It’s hard not to feel that Meghan sees dollar signs where other people see people.

She needs to stay the hell away from Princess Catherine. Meghan’s carefully managed, image-first public persona feels phony and increasingly tawdry. She will never compete with someone whose appeal comes is rooted in humility, kindness, and empathy.

Catherine is beautiful inside and out. Jealousy is a nasty disease. Meghan reportedly struggled with even the smallest differences in their roles: when to enter a room, where to stand on the balcony. Perhaps it was inevitable that someone so small-minded would resent those distinctions. Even if Catherine had looked more like Beatrice, Meghan would still have had to face the reality that Catherine will be Queen and the mother of the future King, while she remains a duchess and a private citizen.

And that, surely, is the real reason the imagined “face-off” will stay imaginary: Catherine has a future to fulfill, and no reason to step into Meghan’s toxic orbit.

There will NEVER be a photo taken of Meghan Markle with the Waleses. NEVER.
