I've played it through a solid 3 times. People are very overdramatic about it. I was told at launch that it's lore was reason enough to make it a 1/10 game. Regardless, a lot of the reasoning around this game's reception is either flat out not true or just so small that it has no influence on the rest of the game.

Why are there so many nger wannabe influencers defending shity goyslop games? They're all over. What's up with that?

Quite literally everything besides basic combat and customization was just ass I genuinely believe that if it wasn't a dragon age title it would've been an even bigger failure then it was, the story was ass I didn't care for any of the characters, choice is completely ripped away, and the forcefully pushing of gender ideology was just annoying and horribly written, just a bad game as a whole tbh and I really tried to like it

veilguard was cool visually but as deep as a puddle, i hated how there was no blood nor human enemies its always something undead or lifeless, and if you’ve played dragon age 1 the difference in vibe is immense it doesn’t even feel like the same overarching story at points. The combat was pretty damn solid though and the customization was dope, i enjoyed the options.

Most of the people that were hating the game online didn’t actually play the game, I havnt finished it but the gameplay was solid, as you said, not the best, not the worst but I think it all came down to sexualization stuff including non binary stuff and whatnot, I don’t remember all of the details, but I know it was in that ballpark, and then so many people rode the train of anger without ever playing the game. BUT I will say, BioWare has been on a downhill trend for a while, mass effect andromeda, dragon age inquisition and anthem being their latest titles aside from veilguard and none of those were considered profitable enough to fund the next project on their own, so it’s been over a decade since BioWare released a banger that sold really well and was reviewed well. But the internet hates veilguard and are very short sighted so they just blame that 1 game. It’s a mixture of idiots online hating lgbtq related stuff and BioWare not releasing anything that good in a very long time

Hey so, have you signed the petition yet? Let's see if mass effect can find a new home with a different studio. #savemasseffect

BioWare was still under EA for Mass 2 and 3 and Inquisition. people forgetting that ME3 had that issue with the ending and people were pissed at Bio. They then had bombs with Andromeda and Antham. Veilguard from what i heard came out still slightly buggy, not too much. but it was enough to make people just not want the game, yes people talked alot about the blue horned characters dialogue, but to most people even though it was annoying they still found the gameplay meh. it wasn’t till updates that the game got better word of mouth.

Form what I heard Dragon age veilguard died due to social narratives and interests such as non-binary or sexualizations were thrown at people's faces with some of the companion characters which caused a whole stick online which made people start to see less of the story and gameplay and more of character personalities which is what Dragon age is good at which put a bad taste in people's mouths

BioWare was on its last leg when Veilguard was released. Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem sold poorly for how much time and money the studio spent to make them and the overt political/gender leaning alienated people from purchasing Veilguard. And only playing an hour of a 50+ hour long game and stating “I don’t see what everyone is talking about” is disingenuous and lazy. Do better buddy.

Heres what happened. It all started post 2014, Bioware saw a lot of exit from veterans post Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age Inquisition came out in 2014 and was a success sales wise then they started working on a fourth Dragon Age as a sequel to Inquisition then EA the overlords changed the concept into a live service game to coincide withAnthem because EA wanted to turn all their games into live services for infinite revenue we saw it with FIFA/FC, Star Wars Battlefront II, Battlefield. So Anthem came out and was a failure which was a first in Bioware history and the point we Bioware RPG fans realized the company was dead 7 years ago. Meanwhile the director of the conceptual Dragon Age 4 quit with a lot of OG Dragon Age devs, so EA hired new devs to make a live service game when Anthem bombed, they rechanged the concept back to what became Veilguard. At this point everything was lost, the OG devs have reduced, the dev time was short, the lore was changed, the tone had changed and at the end of day it was the final part of a grave that has been digging for almost a decade. Bioware died since Dragon Age inquisition
