The Hissy Kits

St. Louis Blues | The Hissy Kits® Live the Milwaukee Central Library

What a great time we had @milwaukeepubliclibrary

We were delighted to present "De-composers and Other Hoity-Toity Music" as part of the library’s new Songs from the Stacks concert series.

Our program celebrated composers of the past and included everything from European opera and classical music to American jazz and early blues. After all, some of yesterday’s musical “racket” has become today’s revered masterpieces! And really, how much more hoity-toity can you get than two cats singing and playing piano and theremin?

We couldn’t have asked for a more lively and enthusiastic audience! What a terrific turnout!

Here’s a clip of our own arrangement of W.C. Handy’s classic St. Louis Blues, featuring Scotch on piano and vocals and Whiskie on theremin.

A huge thank-you to Milwaukee Central Library for inviting us and to everyone who made the afternoon so memorable!

Serious music, unserious cats.
