Nobody expected Whiskie to sing an Elvis song. 🎤🐾 We had such a great time @falconbowlmke in Milwaukee performing at a benefit for @urbancatmke Thank you to everyone who came out and spent the afternoon with us. We had a great time with a lively and fun audience 🐾🐾The Hissy Kits by @thehissykits
Most people associate the theremin with eerie sound effects. Theremin can do so much more than that! Nobody expects a peppy rendition of “I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy.”😸 Whiskie of The Hissy Kits recorded this theremin track during a recent studio session at @reeltimeaudio with Eric Delegard, Matt Thompson, and Scotch. The theremin is played by moving "paws" through an invisible energy field. For our friends at @agtauditions and @agt , our travels across America inspired a new collection of American songs we recently recorded. 🇺🇸 #Theremin by @thehissykits
Ferally refined. Elegantly melodramatic. Absurdly cultured. The Hissy Kits performed at @milwaukeeart by @thehissykits
Some cats have separation anxiety. Others have very strict protocols regarding unauthorized absences. Insubordination will not be tolerated! The Hissy Kits return to Chicago’s @co1orclub on December 20 with Naughty & Nice 😼an evening of musical cabaret, cat comedy, and feline indignation. Our previous Chicago performances sold out. Don’t miss this one! Tickets in bio. #TheHissyKits #MusicalCabaret #CatComedy #ChicagoLiveMusic #ChicagoEvents by @thehissykits
Some cats meow for attention. Others demand an entire cabaret performance. Whiskie of The Hissy Kits® puts her own nonchalant spin on the jazz standard “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" @co1orclub in Chicago. We'll be back at Color Club Dec. 20 for our Naughty and Nice Show. Tickets 🎟️ Link in Bio Serious music. Unserious cats. St. Louis Blues | The Hissy Kits® Live the Milwaukee Central Library What a great time we had @milwaukeepubliclibrary We were delighted to present "De-composers and Other Hoity-Toity Music" as part of the library’s new Songs from the Stacks concert series. Our program celebrated composers of the past and included everything from European opera and classical music to American jazz and early blues. After all, some of yesterday’s musical “racket” has become today’s revered masterpieces! And really, how much more hoity-toity can you get than two cats singing and playing piano and theremin? We couldn’t have asked for a more lively and enthusiastic audience! What a terrific turnout! Here’s a clip of our own arrangement of W.C. Handy’s classic St. Louis Blues, featuring Scotch on piano and vocals and Whiskie on theremin. A huge thank-you to Milwaukee Central Library for inviting us and to everyone who made the afternoon so memorable! Serious music, unserious cats. #TheHissyKits #FelineExpressionism #stlouisblues by @thehissykits
