My mom didn’t give me any sisters but life made sure we found each other. 💛

I went to two colleges and at my second is where I found them! We’re all very different from each other and we all moved away post-college but we have made sure to keep our friendships as a priority over the years.

We may not talk every day or see each other on the weekends but we check in WEEKLY. We make sure we all keep each other in the loop and when one of us is in town, we make sure to all get together. The time spent together I cherish and love so much.

Now as a mom, I cherish that time even more because they are not just my friends now but they’re also the women figures that my girls will look up to. Our kids will learn how to handle friendships and conflict by how we handle our own.

When I’m told and reminded how lucky we are to have such a great group friend I remind people that it is luck but it’s also WORK. Keeping up with friends and being a supportive friend is never and easy task but it’s something that is extremely rewarding.

If you’re a mom and feeling like you wish you had more friends (this is a message I get often from y’all) just know that you’re not alone! I had a deep sadness moving and leaving my friendships in Texas but one of my friends excitedly told me before the move “do you realize that there’s a new best friend out there for you in Boston just waiting to meeting you?? They could be anywhere and you haven’t met yet!!!” and I think about this on my gloomy days. Thanks @katieconleycreative for always being the optimist 🥹

And I hope you think about this too and never brush off the idea of meeting a new bestie just around the corner.
