feeling extra thankful for her everyday 🌞

a big age gap isn’t ideal for many families because they think the siblings will grow up to be so distant from each other because of the age difference. But the truth is that she’s been my number one fan and supporter during this season.

She wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary or going out of her way to take care of me of MG. She was simply being herself. She was being supportive and loving through the good days and the hard days.

My postpartum with Harper was much different. I’m trying to think of an eloquent way to describe it other than “it was hard”

What was your postpartum experience?

our first home had so many built ins and areas that we deliberately created when I decided I wanted to have a more Montessori aligned home.

It took about 5 years to get it all done so it’s felt very hard to transition to a new space and find ways to encourage independence and create accessibility.

thankfully I realized that @sprout_kids creates a larger wardrobe option for older kids who need more space!

✨ ✨✨If you’re interested in the exact model comment HOORAY below and my happy bot will send you a link. Any comments drop them below or reply to the message so I can respond 🙂 ✨✨✨

Code for @sprout_kids is HARPS10!

Curious about the benefits of an accessible wardrobe? I’ll share that in another reel, stay tuned!

Living in a home built in 1850 has really put a lot into perspective for me. I always think about the women before me and the women who will exist after me.

I think about all they’ve lived through and all I’ve seen in my lifetime compared to them.

But today felt extra special because I realized this house existed for 70 years before women were given the right to vote. 70 years. The average life expectancy in 1850 was 45 years. This means the person who lived here originally never got to see it happen, nor her daughters.

Go vote today!!! Vote for yourself, your community, and all the lives that will exist in the future. What you do now will impact the future.

Also, I miss the Willie Nelson statue we would walk by weekly in austin.

I want to start to talk more about mom friends, school friends, friends post motherhood, childhood friends that are no longer friends, friends you just met. All types of friends 🖤

Friendships as we get older and have kids can be tricky. So I figured I speak more to it.

This is a clip from our home in Texas when we were post covid and I realized I wanted to finally create the home and space I wanted for my daughter.

I believe in creating fun spaces for kids and parents to be able to hang out together.

Salem is always fun. It’s busy and it’s hectic so you need to plan ahead.

Find where you’d like to eat and book an 11/12 reservation.

The Salem witch trials memorial is free to attend but you do need to make reservations ahead of time for crowd control (on weekends).

I was not a fan of the witch museum but I know it’s very popular with others. You have to buy tickets the night before at 10pm!

@goodnightfatty is cute. Their menu changes and you can get a coffee and a cookie fast.

We like to park east of Salem Common because I feel that a green open space to start and end the trip is good for the kids. Especially after being overstimulated from so much to seee.

Restaurants I’ve ate and enjoyed: @lifealivecafe and @finzseafoodsalem.

We’ve been to Salem both in the craziness and also off-season in July. Both fun. Just different experiences.

When the girls are older I’d love to explore the house of seven gables and do more history tours.

Anywho- happy Halloween weekend!!!!! 🎃🎃🎃

Want your kids to hangout with you as they get older? ✨Create the space for them to feel welcomed

Want to find more like minded parents and a group of friends to create your community?
✨create the space to foster those conversations

I know it’s a lot easier said than done but creating a space to hangout is so important in motherhood and parenting. I love to host dinners, play dates and outdoor parties too!

We’ve been using @busybeejumpers_ since I found them in July and I’ve loved them so much. They helped me plan for birthday parties, baptism outdoor tea reception and now a Halloween party.

Not all events have to involve rentals but if you do I’ve loved @busybeejumpers_ and was super excited to rent the cotton candy machine this time around.

Also, happy Halloween weekend!!!! Eventually I hope to host this party on actual Halloween! 👻

My mom didn’t give me any sisters but life made sure we found each other. 💛

I went to two colleges and at my second is where I found them! We’re all very different from each other and we all moved away post-college but we have made sure to keep our friendships as a priority over the years.

We may not talk every day or see each other on the weekends but we check in WEEKLY. We make sure we all keep each other in the loop and when one of us is in town, we make sure to all get together. The time spent together I cherish and love so much.

Now as a mom, I cherish that time even more because they are not just my friends now but they’re also the women figures that my girls will look up to. Our kids will learn how to handle friendships and conflict by how we handle our own.

When I’m told and reminded how lucky we are to have such a great group friend I remind people that it is luck but it’s also WORK. Keeping up with friends and being a supportive friend is never and easy task but it’s something that is extremely rewarding.

If you’re a mom and feeling like you wish you had more friends (this is a message I get often from y’all) just know that you’re not alone! I had a deep sadness moving and leaving my friendships in Texas but one of my friends excitedly told me before the move “do you realize that there’s a new best friend out there for you in Boston just waiting to meeting you?? They could be anywhere and you haven’t met yet!!!” and I think about this on my gloomy days. Thanks @katieconleycreative for always being the optimist 🥹

And I hope you think about this too and never brush off the idea of meeting a new bestie just around the corner.

These pictures were a last minute idea with @sarawilliamsphoto_ and they came out so good!!!! She’s Dallas based ❤️

I’ve finally hit the stage in my life where 95% of all my friends are moms. I’m 36 and it’s finally there. I’ve been a mom since 28 and it feels like the older I get and the more moms I know, the more I revel for them.

Moms work really hard and do so much. I hope you’re proud of the mom you were, the mom you are, and the mom you’ll be in the future. Because just like your kids grow up you do too!
