Did you know we have puffins in British Columbia?!
Tufted Puffins spend much of their lives out at sea, coming ashore during breeding season to nest in burrows on offshore islands and coastal cliffs.
Triangle Island, located off the northwest coast of Vancouver Island is actually home to Canada’s largest Tufted Puffin colony! The island is a protected wildlife area and isn’t publicly accessible, helping to safeguard this important seabird habitat and other sensitive ecosystems.
They can also be found in parts of Haida Gwaii and along the west coast of Vancouver Island!
Have you ever seen a puffin in BC?
