I recommend the Not A Drop To Drink duology. The first book is amazing, it's so atmospheric, set in this gritty dystopian world where water is scarce so everyone is your enemy in the fight for survival. In this context, the book has an incredible, earned found family. But then book two comes along, and if the first book feels like a tense animal, hunting and waiting for its prey, the second book is so fact-paced, full of adrenaline and just wild. I think book 2 is better, but it wouldn't be without all the world and character ground work set in book 1. 😍🙌

Enchantra by Kaylie Smith is better than book 1 which I still thought was amazing. I thought Two Twisted Crowns was better than One Dark Window.
