From the outside looking in, meditation looks like nothing. In reality, it’s inexplicably vast
It reminds me of obsidian, in Nahuatl - itzli, or in certain Mayan dialect- Tijax, the obsidian blade.
Obsidian reflects the self, and the shadow. It’s not an easy practice to face thyself, especially the aspects that make us feel bitter, sad, or shameful. Yet, there’s an extraordinary capacity to feel and heal
It’s an internal practices. Meditation is an internal practice, and for many it’s very difficult to sit still, to sit with ourselves in silence, free of distractions and full of thoughts.
Truths are within. Hidden and buried inside waiting to be found. Our senses can fool us and become so easily distracted
More than ever we need to rewire and retrain/train ourselves and our senses to become more refined, more discerning, and more clear.
That, and much more, is exactly what we will be doing in Joshua Tree come February, Mount Shasta come June, and Italy come September
These retreats aren’t for everyone. They’re for those who are willing, able, and ready to take responsibility for their lives. Those who are willing to walk through the discomfort and the fire, and those who are ready truly step into the highest versions of themselves, one breath at a time
I so look forward to those who will be joining. You’ll have my best, always.
