4 days agoI did this as a kid before I checked out a book at the library I would read the last page to see if it was too sad or boring then I wouldn’t check it out. Now as an adult I can’t imagine that
7 days agoThis is how I buy books. I sit at a bookstore and read the first two chapters or so, then I flip to the end and read the last two. Beginning to get a sense of writing style and characters, ending because there are certain ends I absolutely HATE.
7 days agoNever!!! I hate spoilers, and would just hate the book if I did that... have only ever read the end before the end of a book I DNFed 😂 and it was one time 😂
7 days agoWhen i was a teenager i saw the first twilight movie none of the others had come out yet and i wanted to read the books my friend had read them all she gave me the third book i didnt know this and stared reading. I had no idea what the hell was happening or who anyone was and she said oh yeah thats the third book because the first two are boring. I gave her book back and started from the beginning.
7 days ago‘Time’s Arrow’ by Martin Amis as technically the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end, although I wouldn’t recommend it.
7 days agoI read with a buddy reader who loves to skip to the end first. She doesn’t like surprises 😂
8 days agoMight be an interesting way to read house of leaves on a re-read. Maybe I'll figure out the author this time
8 days agoOne of my friends does this. She claims that she won't commit to a whole book if she doesn't like the end. Bananas behavior!
8 days agoI read the last sentence, than start the book. Not the last. Chapter, last sentence, jst cuz I feel like it
8 days agoI read a study done with highschoolers in Finland(I think) that said that it was actually good for your brain to read the last chapter first.. It indicated that it helped your brain learn to make connections and problem solve because you already knew the result. So, you could extrapolate from the context clues you were given at the beginning of the book. I never do this because I like to try to figure out what is happening before I'm told the result but it's interesting.... 📚❤️
