I didn’t know much about workers’ rights pioneer Dolores Huerta before hearing her speak (in conjunction with a screening of a documentary of her life, DOLORES) 9 years ago. Watching the film and hearing this still very vibrant woman encourage us to keep fighting, I wondered what rock I had been living under. Her voice and her spirit were both penetrating and inspiring. All these years later, I am now a worker owner at a media cooperative not far from where I heard her speak.

Endless thanks to Dolores Huerta for the work she did throughout her long life to help this country deliver on its illusive foundational promise.

(And thanks too to my @lkschubert for inviting me to come along on an adventure downtown!)
