🤍 SCENTSWIPE | I ❤️ DOVE
Sold out in 10 minutes.
Somehow that’s Dove’s fault?
Okay, I’ve been reading all the comments about the Dove perfume launch, and I have to say something, because I really don’t understand why people are giving Dove such a hard time.
Yes, it was a limited release. Yes, it reportedly sold out in about 10 minutes. And yes, I completely get why people are disappointed. I’d be disappointed too if something I really wanted was gone before I could get my hands on it.
But Brach’s dropped a limited-edition Candy Corn perfume this fall, and its first release reportedly sold out in under a minute. So why does Dove seem to be getting so much heat for doing something similar?
Here’s what I think we’re missing. Dove isn’t a perfume house, and neither is Brach’s. These are brands taking scents we’ve known and loved for years and stepping into a completely different category. Honestly? I think that’s pretty damn cool.
So maybe instead of dragging Dove for a limited release, we can recognize that they made something people were genuinely excited about.
I’ve been a fan of Dove for years, and I’ll keep being one. 🤍
