This was the first of many waterfalls on our 2nd day in Iceland. This one wasn’t on my list but the host of our guest house recommended it. Nice warm up before the big ones that would follow…

There’s not a more convenient carry setup out there.
A lovely Halloween evening yesterday @theseahorseguildford which is located in the heart of the picturesque town of Shalford. They had a live band performing who were excellent and I will definitely be wanting to see them again 🙌🏻 “Bring them back”! 🤪 Yet another wonderful refurbishment and this time instead of being mostly open plan, they have areas which are more private with about 6 tables in each so you can choose to be out in the open or not, depending on what kind of day/evening you are wanting. What I chose… Starters from the main menu… PAN-FRIED WILD SCALLOPS, Artichoke purée, smoked pancetta, samphire. ROASTED BEETROOT, Whipped Goat’s cheese, butternut relish. All the food was really good, but I was surprised just how good this roasted beetroot salad was 😋 Main from the main menu… 7OZ FILLET STEAK, served with red wine caramelised onion, triple-cooked chips, parsley butter and peppercorn sauce. Main from the specials menu… ROTISSERIE CHICKEN PAPPARDELLE, sautéed mushrooms, porcini & madeira sauce, shaved parmesan. This chicken pasta dish was out of this world so delicious so much flavour 🤤 I another thing I love about this Mitchells and Butlers country pubs is that they have a great selection on the main menu but then each individual pub has a different specials menu. Mina barn har fått äta precis det de velat, plockat ut sina favoriter och sedan lämnat resten. För att de var nöjda. För att godis liksom inte är någon big deal hemma hos oss. Och vet du vad? Det här är en av de saker jag är allra mest glad över med hur vi valt att förhålla oss till mat i vår familj. När jag själv var liten var godis väldigt begränsat. Jag fick sällan äta och det gjorde att godis fick en enorm laddning. Jag började smygäta och passa på när jag väl fick chansen, eftersom jag aldrig visste när jag skulle få äta igen. Det ville jag INTE föra vidare till mina barn! Jag ville att de skulle få växa upp med en annan relation till mat, där godis inte är något förbjudet som man måste passa på att äta så mycket som möjligt av. För när barn inte behöver passa på för att få äta något, behöver de inte heller passa på när de väl får chansen. Det betyder inte att alla barn reagerar likadant, men jag tror verkligen att vi behöver prata mer om vad våra matregler, förbud och begränsningar kan göra med relationen till mat.
