We have some very good news to share. ❤️

Jax made it through surgery, and Percy made it through his procedure, too. Both boys are in recovery, and we couldn’t be more thankful.

Jax’s surgery went very well, but his recovery was scarier than we anticipated. We use the lightest anesthesia we safely can because we know how hard it is on our older, medically fragile babies. Even so, Jax had a difficult time waking up. His heart rate and body temperature dropped, and it took longer than with any other animal we’ve cared for.

But here’s something we want y’all to know.

The things you purchased from our Amazon wishlist helped us take care of Jax today. The warming bed that blows heated air under blankets, our vital signs monitors, and the comforters were all put to use. We had what we needed because of YOU.

This is what your generosity looks like. It’s not just a box arriving at the farm. It’s having the equipment ready when a little life needs it most.

Percy’s recovery was much quicker, and both boys are resting comfortably.

That’s the beautiful thing about the River Center. As soon as two patients go out, two more are waiting. We’re always at capacity, but so grateful for this space. We’re SO close to finishing the interior, and proper insulation has already made a difference in keeping our babies comfortable and saving on heating.

In just the last couple of hours, y’all helped raise an astonishing $800 toward the $2,500 in medical bills from today. More vet care is scheduled this week, and we’d love to get this covered before next week’s expenses. Links in our bio!

If you’d like to help, our Amazon wishlist still has much-needed items, including foot wrap supplies and another heater for Blind Buddy.

But tonight, we’re taking a breath and being thankful. For two boys who made it through. For a medical barn that lets us do what we couldn’t imagine years ago. And for every person who helped build this sanctuary.

Y’all are part of their care and their recovery. Today, you helped us be ready when Jax needed us most.
