Marissa and I had been talking for weeks before this day…calls, emails, messages. Her planning the proposal, me suggesting spots, helping shape the details, listening.

So when the moment finally came, we weren’t strangers. And you can feel that in the photos.

There’s something I always tell my couples before a proposal session… talk the whole time. Don’t pose. Don’t force a smile. I ask them questions, about their story, how they met, what they’re excited about, and the moment they’re in the flow of a conversation, they almost forget the camera is there.

With them, it happened naturally from the very first minute.
