🐝📡 5G AND HONEY BEES… SHOULD I BE WORRIED? 🤔🍯
At this time of year, UK beekeepers are visiting their bees less frequent- if at alI. so it’s been a while since I’ve been down to check on things at the Ferndale apiary. And I got a little surprise…
📡 A 5G mast is currently being built roughly 100 yards from my hives!
Now, I’m not one for jumping to conclusions, and I’m certainly not going to pretend I know the answer. But it did get me thinking…
Does 5G affect honey bees? 🤔
There’s research looking into how radiofrequency electromagnetic fields may affect insects, including bees, but the evidence isn’t conclusive enough to say that a 5G mast will harm a honey bee colony.
So, rather than making wild claims or putting on my tinfoil hat (although it might keep me warm at the apiary 😂), I’m going to keep an eye on things and see what happens.
Will the bees notice? Will they carry on doing what bees do? Or will they demand better Wi-Fi before spring? 😂🐝
What do you reckon? Have you come across any research on 5G and honey bees? I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts — especially if you can point me towards some good evidence.
Let’s keep it sensible, keep it curious 🕵️♂️ 🐝 📡
