this story seems random but it’ll make sense lol… 3 months ago I took a solo trip to Aruba. I felt a little stale, my life runs in seasons, sometimes im super inspired and sometimes I lose that, solo travel has always helped me get it back. I wanted to try something I’d never done so I tried kitesurfing (got absolutely slammed) but had a great instructor @nicoverploeg. Turns out Nico is a DJ, something I’d always wanted to try. (Music is one of my greatest joys) He invited me to his set and I spent 2 hours behind the booth watching him. I remember him dropping a tech house remix of Smooth Criminal and I just LOST it, it sounded INSANE. It was a big moment for me, the idea that you can pick a song and make a room full of people feel something they’ll remember forever. I decided I wanted just ONE moment like that before I die. Back in Dubai I bought some decks, James Hype’s old course and fell in love with DJing. Just for fun, love of the game. 2 months later I got offered a yacht gig and turned it down. I was terrified of fucking it up. I hated that I’d let fear of embarrassment win and promised myself I’d say yes next time. 3 days ago @callumhughes asked me to DJ his yacht party. 4 hour set. 48 hours notice. I was scared. But I said yes. Spent 48 hours downloading music, practising transitions and planning an entire set in order. I was sh*tting myself Then I got behind the decks. The nerves disappeared. I found my flow, ditched the planned set and just started picking songs based on the room. Technically I made loads of mistakes. DJs would be disgusted 😂 But f*ck me I had the time of my life. 4 hours of complete presence. And I got my moment. Even if I never DJ again, that experience was worth everything. For someone who loves creating things, expressing myself in a completely new way felt beautiful. Thank you to everyone who watched, sent messages and especially Callum for the opportunity. First club gig December 11th. No idea where this goes. For now it’s just a hobby, love of the game. A reminder to go after things you want, not always for the result, but for the feeling. I feel f*cking fantastic.

NYC MARATHON BABY !!!! It’s been big It’s been emotional. And honestly I’ve been holding back the tears all day. Very few things highlight my acute sensitivity to other people’s energy like the crowd at a marathon. Any marathon. But especially a marathon where I’m stood next to my 4 year old trying to explain the meaning of it all. Explaining why there are people in wheelchairs and people with guides because they are blind and people in costumes and people of all ages, ethnicities, shapes and sizes. I find it so overwhelmingly joyful and meaningful and grounding and impressive. The fact that everyone is there to raise money for a cause greater than themselves is just sensational. I wish I had the strength and resistance (and cojones) to do it. Maybe one day. BUT RYAN DID. He did it today. He isn’t built for it but he did it anyway. Cos he has grit. And he had things in his head to drive him forward The Alzheimer’s society charity I’m so proud of you darling @ryan.libbey Your grandparents who both suffered with that awful disease would be so proud of you. Is there anything you can’t do? Love u always x x x #nycmarathon #nyc #marathon #newyorkcitymarathon #fatherson

20 years on tour, and this is still one of the questions I get asked most often: How much does it actually cost to be a Professional Tennis player? 🎾 People see the prize money. But they rarely see the bill. Flights, hotels, coaches, physios, training, equipment… running a professional tennis career is a lot like running a small business. And here’s the catch: your expenses don’t stop when you lose. These numbers are estimates, and every player’s budget looks different. But the financial responsibility is very real. To my fellow players: does this reflect your experience? What costs would you add to the list?
