What does a body retain after an action has ended?
In Landscape with the Fall of Icarus, visual and performance artist Murari Jha brings the body, material and everyday gesture into the space of No Single Ground. His practice considers how social history, memory, trauma and resistance are carried through physical experience, and how even the most ordinary action can become a site of negotiation.
Moving between performer and spectator, object and gesture, Jha creates a live environment in which touch, movement and duration produce their own traces.
Presented as part of No Single Ground, curated by Satyajit Dave, during Ahmedabad Cultural Week.
