The condition to recite was the writer should never stop writing. The condition to write was the reciter should never stop reciting.

The great reciter was Vyasa muni, and the great writer was Ganapathi.

As his pen snapped mid-verse, Ganapathy broke off his own ivory tusk—a divine sacrifice to ensure the sacred words would never stop.
