Harassing people on New York City street corners who have been part of these communities for generations is nothing new. See, the problem with some of you MAGA supporters, especially my fellow white people, is that half of y’all have never even stepped foot in New York City, but suddenly you want to talk about “this is Mamdani’s New York” and blame him for things that have been happening here for decades. I was in New York back in the 1990s, and when you went downtown, you saw the same diversity, the same street vendors, and people from all different walks of life. This is nothing new. So stop with the gaslighting and propaganda, especially when you don’t even know the history of the city you’re talking about. Some of y’all have lived in such racially segregated environments that you’ve barely interacted with people outside your own communities. New York City is one of the most diverse places in the world, and that’s part of what makes it New York. Can we please stop turning people into targets simply because they don’t look like us, speak like us, or come from the same background ?
