As an artist, I sometimes take myself in my work far too seriously.
I get caught up in trying to make a painting work, making decisions, questioning them, and forgetting one of the reasons I started painting in the first place! The sheer pleasure of creating….
Amanda‘s words and her accompanying blog were such a good reminder.
I need to play more, embrace the unexpected, try things without worrying about what the outcome will be and most of all I need to remember how lucky I am to walk into my studio every day and do something I really love!
This monthlong sketchbook challenge was exactly the reminder I needed, now I need to continue and take all that playfulness and curiosity with me!
